The Zenith City Wedding Show - my recap .* )

Tuesday, May 1, 2012

This past weekend I attended an event that honestly rates closely after my own wedding day and the births of my children.  I was kindly asked to be the Stylist for The Zenith City Indie Wedding Show. Working with The Wedding Shoppe for Bridal looks and Andi's Closet for the fabulous Engagement looks we featured, our runway show was fresh and fabulous.

Honestly, I struggle (daily) to manage this amazing business that I hand-stitch together while also tending and growing my family. This month has been especially difficult as I try to juggle the travel and all of being a soccer wife and the newness and sickness of pregnancy. (oh the laundry!) HOWEVER, meeting the talented, loving, HAPPY, kind, fabulous and fun people on this team, their FAMILIES, the models.... ahhhhh so refreshing.
I was able to forget feeling sick, feeling tired, feeling frumpy and laugh, get fancy, admire, be inspired. Speaking of feeling inspired, I joined Jes' team at Mad Chicken Studio over a year ago and the "Mad Chicken Lady" and I have been in a whirlwind of ideas and lovliness literally every day since. It is a lovely and divine thing when you meet someone else in your line of work who delights in promoting and helping you grow. Jes grabs my arm and pulls me in the most exciting directions. Jes, you cannot know what this means for me. To Derick Cich for your grace and wit. To Jordan at Tin Cup Design for your stand- out vision and design and your beautifully calm, know-how attitude. And to The Flower Sisters! For the laughs and the love and the friendship and the 3 hour long phone calls at 11pm when our families were asleep and we were so tired and giggly that little made since anymore. For making me feel loved and my input cherished, for loving on my children and making them feel apart of the show. You didn't know me or my work but trusted Jes and embraced me.

You know that flat, slightly sad feeling you have when you've planned your wedding, agonized, stressed, ran all over town to pick everything up to put things together and then the day comes and goes and you are left just staring open mouthed that it's alllll over? THAT is how I felt driving home from Duluth on Sunday night.
That's how I felt yesterday and that is how I still feel today!! I cannot wait until we start planning next year and I hope that I am in contact with these wonderful people every single day until then!

I could not have participated this weekend had it not been for my my mom, sister and brother-in-law  for being  SO amazing making sure the kiddies were safe, happy and ready for the show.

It's obvious I am blessed by the people in my life.
I will share photos as soon as I get them and I hope you'll take a moment to visit the side links that highlight many of the talented people I worked with! If you came by to visit Jes and I at her studio set up please leave a note here and keep in touch!!

Thank you Thank You Thank you Thank you Thank you! Love Love Love Love Love Love Love
